Happy Monday, dear readers! I am presenting you the most important meal of my day today which is breakfast. As I am an early riser, I feel hungry very early in the day. So I love to have some fulsome breakfast to kick off my day. Sometimes I would love to have pancakes both sweet or savory, sometimes eggs, sometimes just homemade granola with yogurt. But on some of the days, when I am short of time, I like to have quickie ones just like this jamun chia smoothie. It is super delicious, wholesome, and full of nutrients. It’s so amazing that it keeps your stomach light giving you positive energy throughout the day. It’s a complete and balanced meal itself, which you can whip up in no time. I love smoothies. And I have some other recipes too on the blog. I generally make them with seasonal fruits, whichever I buy from the market during my weekly grocery shopping. This way, I don’t have to go plan for some special ingredients to make my breakfast when I am short on time. Fast, fresh and simple just like my many more recipes.

- 1 frozen banana, diced
- 150 ml coconut water
- 1/2 cup jamun pulp
- 150 ml plain yogurt
- 2 tsp chia seeds, extra to serve
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp rolled oats
- 1/2 cup ice
- In a blender combine all the ingredients together. Blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into serving glass and serve with some extra chia seeds.
I could never enjoy jamuns. Everybody says I am weird. I haven’t met a single soul who doesn’t like jamun, except for my taste bud. But the color jamun leaves after blending is purely magical to me. Love that shade and it’s tempting me. May be on my next visit to India 🙂
It could be because of the chalky aftertaste you get from them. I grew up eating jamuns a lot because my mother loves eating them. May be that’s why I have developed the taste for them. And yes the color lures me too. I remember as kids, me and my sister used to have a more-colored-tongue competition by eating jamuns. Haha, what fun were those days!
